2031 designs on World Cup

THE unanimous recommendation for South Africa to host the 2023 World Cup should put a neon circle around 2031 for Australia’s next allout bid to woo the showpiece event.

Rugby Australia board members Bill Pulver and Brett Robinson will be part of the 39-strong Rugby World Cup Council, which votes on November 15 to definitively decide the country that will host the 2023 edition.

For Australia, selecting a World Cup host has followed a rhythm between a northern and a southern host.
