Top police in the hunt

-

SENIOR police are vying for a top rank in the Queensland Police Service, to replace Deputy Commissioner Peter Martin, who left to become Commissioner of Queensland Corrective Services.

The deputy commissioner role, with an advertised pay of $275,000-$286,000, will be open to applicants from outside of the QPS.

Up-and-coming senior ranked QPS Assistant Commissioners Bob Gee, Paul Stewart, Peter Crawford and Tracy Linford are considered frontrunners. Former QPS officer Debbie Platz, now an Assistant Commissioner in the Australian Federal Police, is also favoured.
