Quinton says mares ‘on par’

-

TRAINER Ron Quinton’s pre-race assessment of his top mares Dixie Blossoms and Daysee Doom is the same as usual on the eve of the Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington tomorrow.

“There is not much between them,’’ he said.

“Even though they were unplaced in The Nivison last start, both mares raced well under the circumstances.

“They are in good order for the Myer – it’s just a shame Daysee drew so wide.’’

Daysee Doom has drawn the outside barrier in the 16horse Myer field while Dixie Blossoms has gate nine but could move in a couple of positions after scratchings.
