Nice return on Cup day

DAVID Henderson, former Mermaid Beach real estate agent and part-owner of 2013 Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente, is set to have his most profitable Cup day yet tomorrow.

He’ll be banking far more than the winning owners of the 2017 Cup – the proceeds from the $16.45 million sale of his beachfront Mermaid home.

Settlement of the deal, secured by David’s brother Luke to a mystery buyer, is expected before the Cup field leaves the starting barrier.
