Wallaby’s Cup hope

-

SEAN McMahon will be lost to Tokyo in April yet the desperate bid to reclaim the Wallabies back-rower for the 2019 Rugby World Cup is suddenly positive because of tweaks to the Japanese season.

Another storming game in the 63-30 trouncing of Japan in Yokohama on Saturday reinforced how key the No.8 is.

McMahon insisted his full focus was on the tour’s remaining three Tests, starting with Wales on Sunday, before his Japanese stint and the question marks beyond.

“I haven’t shut the door on anything and if the opportunity is there and the club I’ve signed with and Rugby Australia talk then we’ll see what happens,” said McMahon, set to join Suntory Sungoliath.
