Coast pair turn home into hotel

- SUZANNE SIMONOT

TWO Gold Coast friends will become the latest locals to bare all for a national TV audience tonight.

Coast wig designer Lynne, 48, and photographer Simon, 52 will feature in Channel 7’s new reality series Instant Hotel.

The series rides the Air Bnb craze as teams compete for the title of best instant hotel.

Host Luke Jacobz and judge Juliet Ashworth guide 10 teams as they open their homes to guests – and public scrutiny – as instant hotels.

Lynne and Simon hope to win the series with Lynne’s Isle of Capri home – a perfect entertainer with an open plan design and pool opposite the upmarket Capri on Via Roma shopping centre.

The house rents for $475 a night and sleeps 11 people in four bedrooms.

“My house is truly in the most sought after holiday destination in the country – Surfers Paradise,” Lynne says.

“It is not out in ‘Sticksville’. I had this house built to what you see today.”

The series also features Byron Bay newlyweds Sam, a 24-year-old yoga instructor, and plumber James, 27.

Instant Hotel premieres tonight on Channel 7 at 7.30pm.
