SOUND OF SILENCE

-

A HUGE increase in fees levied on nightclubs that play recorded music by Australian performers would hurt the very people it is intended to benefit. Given a sad lack of live music venues, nightclubs at least give artists a profile by playing recordings. If such an impost is levied, performers can say goodbye to venues playing any of their music, cutting off a lucrative source of revenue and also denying young people a chance to hear Aussie talent while partying.
