THE great hotel constructi­on boom that gripped our city in the late ’80s and early ’90s left us with a legacy of global brand names and exemplary structures that have helped bolster our tourism industry. On Friday night the Marriott Resort and Spa celebrated its 25th anniversar­y with a black-tie cocktail party by the pool. Tourism industry heavyweigh­ts and frequent guests joined in the celebratio­ns for one of our major drawcards.
