Council sees light on coaster
COMPLAINTS the lights on Movie World’s newest rollercoaster were too bright have been dismissed by the Gold Coast City Council.
Helensvale councillor William Owen-Jones said he had received “a couple” of complaints about the brightness of the Joker signs on the new HyperCoaster at the popular theme park.
“We had the environment officers go out and investigate and the brightness came back within the guidelines,” he said.
Cr Owen-Jones said one resident had complained because the lights were shining into their bedroom window.
A spokesman for Movie World said no complaints had been received by the park.
“The DC Rivals HyperCoaster’s lighting meets the requirements of a Tourism Attraction in the City’s plan,” he said.
“Movie World considers itself as a good neighbour of the community and would encourage guests to get in contact with our team if they have any questions.”
