Prevention unit wins city gong

THE Gold Coast Crime Prevention Unit has won the project category at the City of Gold Coast Awards.

The Save program used 20 agencies and 100 people during a docudrama, which was played out live at Upper Coomera State College in September to educate senior students on road safety. Results showed 64 per cent of students now know the fatal five dangers. Acting Sergeant Tracey Coulston received an award for her contribution to improving community safety while Jasyiyah Abdul Kadir, from the Cross Cultural Unit, was nominated for the Emergency Services Tour for newly arrived refugees.
