LOSING STREAK’S 50TH MILESTONE

NOT sure if there is an official phobia of the Melbourne Cup but if there is, Channel 9’s Bruce Paige has it.

The reason is that every year Bruce selects his bets and every year watches despondently as people all around him celebrate wildly as their pick wins.

“The last time I won on the Cup was in 1967 when Red Handed crossed the line. So this year is my 50th anniversary of continuous losses,” he said mournfully. Maybe next year …
