One Nation signs targeted

- PAUL WESTON Corflute vandals campaign for Batman – Paul Weston’s column P21

BROADWATER One Nation candidate Brenden Ball has made a complaint to police after vandals wrecked his signs overnight.

Mr Ball yesterday told the Bulletin he believed there was a “targeted attack” on his political signage because the signs of his rivals were not touched.

He contacted Runaway Bay police early yesterday and later sent a letter of complaint asking officers to stage patrols to catch the “mongrels”.

“I had 16 signs damaged in multiple locations in Runaway Bay, Coombabah and Hope Island,” Mr Ball told police.

“Eleven of the damaged signs were sprayed with black paint and at each location the LNP and Green signs were not touched.”

“The person has repeatedly knocked over my staked sign and this time bent and destroyed the steel pickets that I used to try to stop it happening.”

Mr Ball said he was a self funded candidate and the vandalism was costing him hundreds of dollars.
