Fine for Surfers road rage attack
A 21-YEAR-OLD man who grabbed another man and broke a windshield in a road rage attack has walked away with a $500 fine.
Saige Talin William SavilaSmith pleaded guilty to the May 21 incident in Surfers Paradise which left a 51-yearold man terrified. The court heard Savila-Smith ran toward the victim in his car after a minor crash on Cypress Ave at about 2.50am.
Salvia-Smith then grabbed the man’s arm, before hitting his hand on the windshield and shattering it, leaving the victim unable to drive the car. Defence lawyer Jason Grant said Savila-Smith was “extremely embarrassed” by the incident.
Magistrate Christopher Callaghan said the behaviour was “unacceptable” but added: “I see this is out of character for you.”
