Health kick for Tweed

-

NEW age-friendly state-ofthe-art exercise equipment has been unveiled in John Follent Park in Tweed Heads.

Open to everyone, the outdoor exercise pods are a free option designed to help boost the health of the community.

The pods are nestled among trees in the park, a popular destination for walkers, cyclists and runners that overlooks the Tweed River.

Council and Northern NSW Local Health District will offer two free, four-week “Come and Try” programs (from November 25 and February 3) for over 50s to mark the launch.

The programs, to be run by qualified exercise professionals, will cover topics such as exercising safely, warming up, how to use each piece of equipment and information on balance training, core stability and resistance training.
