Pledge on new facility
THE LNP has committed in government to deliver a new hospital for the Gold Coast.
But the Opposition, at this stage of the State election campaign, has given no time line for the project.
Opposition health spokesman John-Paul Langbroek said a Tim Nicholls led-LNP government would establish an independent Hospitals Planning Commission to plan for the future health needs of all Queensland communities.
Health Minister Cameron Dick said the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service had bought a 13.5ha parcel of land next to Coomera Station in anticipation of future growth.
