AS we swing into the social season, the heat is on the hospitalit­y workers on the Gold Coast’s frontline.

After moving here last year, House of Brews mix master Alastair Scanlon has been kept on his toes by the cocktail crowd. “One minute you’re talking to the customer on the other side of the bar, the next you have 450 cocktails to make in the next five hours,” he said.

“The adrenaline from this line of work is incredible.”
