Teen ace lands ace

FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD Wollongong whiz Thomas Heaton continued his hot run of success in senior golf by nailing a hole-in-one on his second hole at the NSW Open yesterday.

Heaton, a Year 10 student, earlier this month became the Australian Golf Club’s youngest club champion in 135 years.

After qualifying at the NSW Open, he kept up the show with an ace at the 126m parthree second at Twin Creeks on his way to a one-under 71.

“I couldn’t believe the start,” he said. “I was trying to calm myself down, I was so pumped.”
