ACADEMIC Enrichment is a program run by Aquinas College to let students briefly try a subject they might not normally do.

Some of this year’s activities have included Skin Care, Health and Fitness, Theartresports, Make a Trebuchet (Middle Ages sling shot) and Investing in the Stockmarket.

English teacher Georgia Brown offered Skin Care where students were briefed on basic skin care and then made an organic face cream.

“The skin care program I was able to run was a complete success,” Ms Brown said.

“It was wonderful to be able to provide a platform for teenagers to ask questions about their skin and learn how to take care of their skin at this young age. I was excited to share this interest of mine with them. The time we had together making facial scrubs from everyday things in the kitchen was special for everyone involved.

“The activity had a great energy and it was excellent to see lots of boys showing up as well to learn about an area that is typically targeted at girls. I believe everyone had lots of fun and it was great to see them walking around with their face masks on and seeing big grins everywhere.”

Students from Year 7 to 11 enjoyed what was offered and were queuing up before school to secure their positions in their favourite topics.
