Kerr chases tour spot
TWEED product Josh Kerr continues to fight for his World Surf League championship tour future by pushing through to the fourth round at the Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa.
Kerr will miss the cut for automatic requalification to the CT but can regain a spot by finishing in the top 10 on the qualifying series and a strong placing in the 10,000-point Hawaiian Pro would give his chances a massive boost.
The 33-year-old finished second to Tahiti’s Michel Bourez in Round 3 to advance, edging out Costa Rica’s Carlos Munoz by 0.24 points.
Lennox Head’s Stuart Kennedy is also through to Round 4 and is fighting for his CT future with only a win or second placing in the final event of the year at Pipeline enough to push him into the requalification zone.
