COMMITMENT: Gold Coast residents and businesses are paying up to $2500 for power. What guarantee — money wise — can you give that power bills will be lower?

LNP: The LNP will deliver cheaper electricit­y prices saving a typical family $780 over the next three years.

LABOR: Modelling by ACIL Allen shows our actions have reduced bill increases by $146 this year and $210 next year. Further, a re-elected Palaszczuk government would ensure bills for households and small business will not increase above CPI for the next two years. Queensland households will also receive a $50 a year rebate over the next two years.

LABOR: The DEWS report found that an UltraSuper­critical Coal power station would only be viable under sustained high wholesale energy prices over the 40-year life of the plant. Energy experts and industry investors won’t back building a new coal-fired power station in Queensland. its

Asked to begin planning for a new hospital in the city’s north, the LNP will deliver a Hospital Planning Commission to deliver better health services for the areas of highest need. Labor revealed it has purchased 13.5 hectares adjacent to Coomera Station in anticipati­on of future growth.

Labor promises power bills will drop by $210 next year and Queensland households will also receive a $50 a year rebate over the next two years. The LNP estimates savings of $780 to families across three years.
