‘GET THE TRAMS SOUTH’

-

NOBODY knows the Currumbin electorate better than Gary O’Reilly.

The owner of Tugun Fruit and Flowers has been working in the area since 1975 and is proud to admit it has “maintained its community feel”.

Mr O’Reilly said he hoped the light rail would eventually be extended to the Gold Coast Airport.

“I hope I’m alive to see the light rail come down here.”

Mr O’Reilly said overcrowded schools were an issue in the northern parts of the electorate at Currumbin and Palm Beach.

“If you’re thrown out of Palm Beach Currumbin, you go to Elanora and if you’re thrown out of there, you’re right back where you started,” he said.

“We’re lucky we don’t have an issue with crime here in Tugun but I know there are some young troublemakers up that way.”
