Extradited for frauds

AUSTRALIAN police are extraditing a New Zealand man who is wanted over an alleged million-dollar boilerroom scam.

Sunshine Coast detectives yesterday were due to leave Christchurch with the 48-yearold, who is expected to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court today on 21 counts of fraud. Police allege the boilerroom type scam fleeced $1.2 million from 21 victims across Australia.

Police say the proceeds were used to fund a lavish Gold Coast lifestyle, vehicle purchases and holidays.
