I am way more worried about Labor in bed with the loony Greens than LNP and One Nation. With the Greens tail wagging the Labor dog drugs will be free and electricity will be a luxury. Pity the poor and the pensioners. – Simon

Labor ad said Mr Nicholls sold our assets. What about Annastacia selling Queensland to the Indians and giving them our money? – Peter

I’d prefer this toxic Council be declared a health hazard and drained rather than Black Swan Lake.

What a hypocrite Kate Jones is telling us she cares about the Coast. She and the chook cost us tens of thousands of jobs. She is only hoping she will be the Minister for the Games. She won’t get rid of Labor this Saturday. – BS

Re same-sex marriage. It cost $120 million just to run the postal vote, now it’s being dragged out costing more. Move on, there’s more important if not urgent issues to contend with.

Oh Ken Wade (22/11), these jobs are fire fighters, ambos, nurses, teachers, people needed! You would do well to remember the Liberal GCC Councillors aren’t to speak to media unless initially directed to do so by the Liberal “King” Tom Tate! – J

Re: Republic of Australia issue, this vote should be put to people of Australia & let us have our say on this issue.

The reason political candidates aren’t committed to light rail is they know most people south don’t want it. Build a better bus service out to the suburbs to the west. People have to park their cars and then get the rail which will clog up our streets. These are suburbs by the sea, not parking lots. – Jayar David, no wonder you run short of cash when you rely on Nan for Schoolies fun. No future for you unless you plan for these and work for your own money. How long did you know Schoolies was coming? Bet you never buy Nan a gift either … she loves you but isn’t doing you any favours being a crutch for your enjoyment, you spoilt boy.

Smiling Pete said publicly “I lied” & was still re-elected. When he retired from politics he said “I will never take a job for the boys.” I guess all the mega paying jobs he has been gifted by Qld Labor Gov have been openly contested. Oh that’s right, he lied. – ND

Timid Tim, Silly Annastacia or loopy Pauline … one or two of whom will shape our fragile destinies for the next 4 years. God save us!

Re: Palm Beach Soccer Club. Palm Beach has had to pay hundreds of thousands in license fees each year for the last five years of the National Premier League. The licence has near sent the club broke. If Palm Beach were to renew the licence the club would be forced to close its doors within the next two years. If ya wanna destroy the “hard fought for” tourism and education industries on the GC, and put many of your friends out of work, vote for Pauline this Saturday.

So JP McGuire considers only fools do not vote Labor. Then please explain why you are happy that Labor has run up a debt of 80B and spends 40% of its entire budget to employ public servants. – Ozman

How much easier it would have been to have put US mass murderer Charles Manson to death some 50 yrs ago rather than paying millions for his upkeep. Mass murderers are the weeds of society, why pamper them?

Unemployment? What unemployment? Annastacia has right idea. Throw in a few thousand more unproductive public servants further bleeding public purse & adding to state debt. – Les

Great tongue-in-cheek post David. The government already gives schoolies a stimulus package in the form of police/ambos /lifeguards etc for the best time of their life!

Australia wastes 8 billion in food a year, good on us. America throws away/wastes 160 billion in food a year and the UK wastes 25 billion in food, turned into landfill. Those numbers are staggering, especially when even here some kids are going to school hungry & go to bed hungry.

In this day and age the WAGS thing astounds me. Now that women’s sport is generating the sort of interest it should, will we see these ladies’ husbands on display at trophy night, showing off their overpriced tuxs. I think not. But, for some reason, WAGS find a sense of pride in being their husbands’ handbags. – Dave

So the old chestnut of the LNP sacking 14,000 public servants is being pushed by the ALP. Well, well, well. The public should know only 85 public servants were actually sacked. The average number of public servants sacked each year is 60. The remainder voluntarily accepted redundancy packages. – Darryle

Why are illegal immigrants enjoying a roof over their heads and Aussies are homeless on the streets?

This lack of self control by schoolies shows just how bad the future is not just for them but heaven forbid they have children themselves. – Doug
