Building drops off
THE value of completed construction work in Queensland is down almost 4 per cent over the past year, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Data released yesterday by the ABS shows that the total value of completed construction work, both residential and non-residential, fell to $20.6 billion in the 12 months to September 2017.
Of this, the value of the State Government’s construction of new buildings was a mere $860 million, which is less than half of the 10-year average of $2.2 billion.
