Spotting Griffith University’s Vice-Chancellor Ian O’Connor AC the other day we noticed his ankles encased in flaming red.

What gives? “It’s my look,” he said with a laugh.

“I love having that bright colour and it actually saves me money. I go to Uniqlo, buy a few pairs and it doesn’t matter if one goes missing, as they do, I simply borrow one from the pile.” Would the Latin term be ‘Professor Flammea’?
