Tobacco’s true cost
SMOKING kills an average 1200 Americans daily, tobacco companies admitted in courtordered advertisements published in newspapers.
The “corrective statements” began appearing 11 years after a 2006 ruling that the companies deceived the public for decades on the health dangers of smoking.
The ad continued that “more people die every year from smoking than from murder, AIDS, suicide, drugs, car crashes and alcohol, combined,” with the last word highlighted.
