- ALISTER THOMSON

CHANGES are afoot at the top of the management tree at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa.

General manager Neeraj Chadha is leaving for a role as multi-property vice-president for Fiji and Samoa and will be replaced by Ravinder Dhesi.

Mr Dhesi, who moved to Australia from Fiji in 2002, said he was pleased to be returning to the Gold Coast, after previously working as executive assistant manager finance at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort & Spa between 2005 and 2012.

“When I returned to Fiji back in 2012 to become a hotel manager, I knew I would miss Australia,” he said.

“I am now thrilled to be relocating once again to the Gold Coast. I look forward to becoming a part of the Gold Coast community and to work with the team at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa.”

Mr Chadha said he was looking forward to experiencing island life.

“Gold Coast and the Surfers Paradise Marriott team will always be in my heart,” he said.

“I lived here for five years and it felt like home and as hard as it will be to leave this beautiful city, I look forward to meeting the new team in Fiji and Samoa.” Mr Chadha has been general manager at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa since 2012.
