Kiwi Barrett does it again

ALL Blacks flyhalf Beauden Barrett has emulated New Zealand great Richie McCaw by winning World Rugby’s player of the year award for a second straight year.

Barrett was named ahead of New Zealand teammate Rieko Ioane, the England and Lions duo of Owen Farrell and Maro Itoje, as well as Australia’s Israel Folau.

Ioane won the breakthrough player of the year award, while New Zealand’s Portia Woodman was women’s player of the year.
