Six secure shot at PGA
SIX golfers have secured their places in the Australian PGA Championships after qualifying events.
Victorian Ryan Woodward (Victoria) shot a score of 67 to win one of two qualifiers at Keperra yesterday while Christopher McCourt (68, Brisbane) and Alex Edge (69, NSW) also earn spots.
Andrew Schonewille (Victoria) won the Surfers Paradise qualifier, shooting a sevenunder 64 to win ahead of New Zealand’s Kieran Muir and NSW product Marco Zirov.
Gold Coast short-game coach Matthew Ballard, who mentors the likes of Adam Scott, shot a 71 and missed out on qualifying for Royal Pines.
