MO HAIR THE RIGHT STUFF(ING) FOR A DOORSTACHING PARTY

- SUZANNE SIMONOT

JUST when you thought you’d seen it all, along comes the all-new Doorstache.

Gold Coasters preparing for the traditional shavedown to mark the end of Movember – a fun annual event to raise awareness of men’s health issues – are being encouraged to put any hair harvested from their caterpillar lips to good use this year.

Vodka brand 42BELOW, which makes eco-soaps from bars’ discarded lemon peels, will turn shavings collected from Movember mo-growers into Doorstaches – moustache-shaped draught stoppers designed to recycle waste, stop draughts and (in their wildest of dreams) potentially reduce power bills.

Mo growers will be able to farewell their ‘lip weasels’ and watch a ‘nana’ turn the trimmings into the world’s first eco draft-stoppers made from real moustaches at Mo Party events at Aloha Bar, in Broadbeach, and Nightjar, at Burleigh Heads, on Sunday.

Aloha Bar manager Tim Glasson said Miami’s Zeppelin Barbers would set up a shaving station in the venue on from 4pm, with a free cocktail for all participants.
