Justice ten years late

A MAN who hit a Mermaid Beach convenience store manager in head with a beer bottle has been fined nearly a decade after the attack.

Nathan Keir Carr failed to appear in court after the April 8, 2009 attack and police only managed to catch up with him earlier this year.

Carr pleaded guilty in Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to assault and failing to appear in court.

The prosecutor said the incident happened at the Stop N Shop on the Gold Coast Hwy

Magistrate Kay Philipson fined Carr $750 for both the assault and the failure to appear.
