The M1: Continued upgrade as a critical pipeline between Coolangatta and Brisbane airports.

Convention Centre: A supported and budgeted extension ASAP.

Business Events: Continued pursuit of major business conferences.

The Spit: Prompt completion of a master plan incorporating a major destination attraction.

The Hinterland: Development of a cable car to promote easy, low-impact access; addition of further world-class walking trails and shelter huts.

Events: Continued Tourism and Events Queensland funding and support of major events such as the GC600, Gold Coast Marathon and Magic Millions.

Aviation: Extension of the Connecting with Asia Fund and secure direct flights to and from the US west coast.

Transport: Extension of the light rail to Coolangatta Airport.

Attractions: Addition of dive wrecks off the coast to bring a new segment of visitors to the city.

Infrastructure: construction of a cruise ship terminal.

Education Tourism: Further growth to build longer-stay visitor numbers and create more employment in innovation, health and knowledge, and medical tourism.

Beaches: Commercialisation of the city’s prime asset – with conditions.
