MURDER OF CROWS

-

HOW anyone could deliberately set out to destroy wildlife and in the process, kill a much-loved family pet, defies belief.

But it happened at Mermaid Waters and, as the Bulletin reports today, residents say it has occurred in the past too as someone in the area targets crows.

The theory is someone is upset by the noise the birds make in breeding season.

That might be the case but the madness in throwing baits around in a public park is considerably more annoying, not to mention extremely dangerous to humans as well as pets and native creatures.

Heavy penalties apply, assuming the culprit is ever caught and the courts decide to impose the maximum fine of $110,000 or send the heartless offender to jail.

More worrying though is the potential for a child to be harmed by the idiotic actions of the crow killer.

The person responsible needs to take a long, hard look at himself.
