LIKE MY BEARD? I THINK IT’S TREE-MENDOUS

- KATE PARASKEVOS

WHEN it comes to showing some Christmas spirit, Haydan Rawlings is willing to take it on the chin. Mr Rawlings was among thousands of Gold Coasters – also including Rhyder, Zoe and Addison Johnston (below) – spreading festive cheer at the Mayor’s Christmas Carols event at the Broadwater Parklands on Saturday.

SANTA’S elves will have to work extra hard this year.

More than 70 sets of beautiful twins, triplets and multiples joined their parents and friends for a massive Christmas celebration at Abrakidazzle play centre yesterday.

And judging from yesterday’s party, they’re all on the ‘nice list’.

Gold Coast Multiple Birth Association president Kristie Miller said the Christmas party was a chance for the families of twins and multiples to get together over the festive season.

“We want to keep growing our network so we can reach out to any parents of multiples to offer support and offer knowledge from those who have been there,” she said.

“Our group is for anyone who has multiples, and expectant parents, or bereaved parents who want to talk about their experience with others in the same boat.”

Ms Miller said she started the organisation when she moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney with her twoand-a-half-year-old twins Tyson and Chanel and had no friends or family support.

“It can be tough, that’s why we like to get together and have some fun and offer that support to other families,” she said.
