Car strikes shoppers

-

FOUR women suffered multiple injuries when they were hit by a car in Adelaide’s city centre.

The 40-year-old driver of the BMW sedan was seriously injured and remains in Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The women, aged from 26 to 67, were standing on the footpath at the intersection of Pulteney St and Rundle St, about 4pm on Saturday, when they were struck. They are all in a stable condition.

Police said they believed it was not a deliberate attack but that reckless driving was a factor in causing the crash.
