Speedster denied bail

A DRIVER has been denied bail after allegedly being clocked doing up to 192km/h on the M1 – more than 80km/h over the speed limit.

Police allegedly recorded Dylan Edgecombe, 21 of Nanango, doing 134km/hr on the Pacific Motorway between the Binstead Way off ramp at Nerang and the Mt Tamborine off ramp just before 3am on Sunday.

Police gave chase and allegedly recorded Edgecombe, in a silver Kia, at speeds up to 192km/h. Edgecombe disputes he was going that fast.

Edgecombe did not enter a plea in Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to one charge each of failing to stop and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Magistrate Dermot Keogh denied bail as the offences were allegedly committed while Edgecombe was on parole.
