Men love their activewear

SHOPPERS would be well advised to exercise a little creativity this Christmas when it comes to buying for the men in their lives.

New research shows almost twice as many men as women want to unwrap some activewear on December 25.

But it’s not just the stretchy sports gear so popular with females across the world that men want to slip into, with clothing the preference of 46 per cent of men, compared with just 28 per cent of women.

Surprising figures from a Paypal Australia study showed 18 per cent of men wanted to be given activewear compared with 10 per cent of women.

“A while back everyone wanted to wear baggy, basketball bloomers but now we’re heading back to … it’s almost budgie smugglers,” social commentato­r David Chalke said.

“The shorts are getting shorter and tighter.”
