Rain fear for Portelli contenders

-

TRAINER Gary Portelli is sweating on a good track at Rosehill on Saturday for two of his Magic Millions hopefuls.

Portelli is keen to start promising juvenile filly Secret Lady and three-year-old Single Bullet, who are respectively trekking towards the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas on January 13.

“Secret Lady is going like a horse that should be racing this weekend,’’ the Warwick Farmbased Portelli said.

“I am mindful that I don’t want her to be stale by the time we get to her grand final (the Magic Millions) but I’m also a firm believer when fillies are in form they can hold it.”

Secret Lady, a filly by Choisir, won the $150,000 Golden Gift (1100m) at Rosehill on November 25 at her second start.

Portelli also wants a good track for Single Bullet to kick off his Millions campaign.
