A GUTSY century from Angelo Mathews helped Sri Lanka fight back in the third Test against India in Delhi.

After Indian captain Virat Kohli smashed a career-best 243, his second successive double hundred, to lift his team to 7-536dec on a smog-affected second day that saw Sri Lankan fielders wearing face masks, his bowlers reduced the visitors to 2-14.

Skipper Dinesh Chandimal joined Mathews for an unbroken 157-run fourth wicket stand to lift Sri Lanka to 3-232 midway through the third day.
