PNG test for young Jags
GOLDEN South Jaguars are giving some of their best young talent the chance to go headto-head against a Papua New Guinea national netball team.
The Jaguars do not begin a new Queensland State Netball League competition until midMay but jumped at the chance to play tomorrow night at All Saints Anglican School.
The Papuans are on the Coast for a camp leading into a Pacific nations tournament in Vanuatu but the match is a timely opportunity for a number of Jaguars teenagers.
“We have a number of our players preparing for state under-17 and under-19 trials and this is a good opportunity for them,” coach Paula Stuart said.
The youngsters will be complimented by a group of Division 1 players, including Firebirds squad member Kristen Oxenford and newcomer, former Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic player Aisha Bower.
The Jaguars-PNG game scheduled for a 7pm start. is
