Brake on scooters

LEADFOOTS on mobility scooters are in the sights of an inquiry established by a senator whose wife was seriously injured in a footpath collision.

The partner of Nationals Senator John Williams needed a hip replacement after being struck in regional NSW last year. Mr Williams told Parliament that 62 people had been killed and 442 hospitalised in mobility scooter incidents between 2000 and 2010.
