WOLVERINE TRIUMPHS IN THOR BATTLE
ALMIGHTY Thor may have reigned at the box office this year but he has lost a fierce battle to Wolverine, according to Instagram, which has revealed that Hugh Jackman’s budding selfie game was better than Chris Hemsworth’s wry posts on the photo-sharing network.
Jackman overtook last year’s top Australian celebrity Instagrammer with a host of slightly daggy selfies, celebrity cameos, and a tally of 14.9 million followers, while Hemsworth trailed on just 12.4 million followers.
The Byron Bay-based actor did claim the title of most liked Instagram photo for a picture of him on the Thor:
Ragnarok set with his daughter, however, as well as the most liked video in which he calls out Jack Black.
Hemsworth also beat his other family members to second place on the list of top Aussie celebs on Instagram, as brother Liam only climbed into sixth place with 9 million followers. Ruby Rose won the most followers for an Australian female celebrity while New South Wales claimed the honour of most popular photographic destination again, claiming the top five most popular photo-sharing locations of the year, with Bondi in first place again.
Surfers Paradise, Brisbane’s South Bank, plus Victoria’s St Kilda Beach, MCG, and National Gallery rounded out the top 10.
As for the most popular Instagram hashtag in Australia, perhaps helped by political debate, #love won out over #australia.
