GAME OF THRONES CREATOR’S NEW TV SHOW OUT OF THIS WORLD

GAME of Thrones is arguably the biggest show ever produced for our TV screens.

Now creator of the popular fantasy series, George R.R. Martin (left), has revealed he’s ready to step into space.

The SyFy Channel has confirmed it will be making a 10episode, made for television, adaptation of Martin’s 1980 novella Nightflyers.

Previously the book was made into a low-budget film adaptation in 1987 and detailed how everything on a spaceship that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Oh, and the ship’s AI gets glitchy and almost everybody dies.

Martin admitted he was “baffled as to how they hoped to get a series out of my story”. Then he read the scripts. “I saw how he’d dealt with that. It was a good read.”

The ability to expand the series may be due to the fact it is set in a universe which Martin has explored in other works.

“(It has) a substantial budget, one that should allow them to create a show that looks as good as modern audiences expect.”
