Swim trials ticket sale

THEY were among the hottest-selling items when tickets to the Commonwealth Games went on sale earlier this year, but there’s relief for swimming fans who missed out.

Australia’s best swimmers will vie for places on the Games team at the national titles at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in February.

And with all places in the team determined by results at the trials, fans can expect an atmosphere almost as tense as during the Games themselves, with superstars Cameron McEvoy, Olympic champion Kyle Chalmers and former world champ James Magnussen going head-to-head.

With as much as a third of the national squad to be made up of Gold Coasters after coach Michael Bohl’s move to Griffith University, fans will be cheering for local stars to make the team. Tickets go on sale tomorrow through Ticketek.
