Good news for Neser on injury

- - CONNOR O’BRIEN

MICHAEL Neser will not require surgery on his busted finger in a boost to the fastbowling all-rounder’s hopes of being available for the start of the Big Bash League season.

Neser, who captains the Gold Coast Dolphins when not on state or BBL duties, fractured the ring finger on his right hand during Queensland’s recent Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia.

The 27-year-old has received good news that the break is not as severe as feared, meaning he will not need to go under the knife.

Neser plays for Adelaide in the BBL, with the Strikers’ first match of the season set for December 22 against the Sydney Thunder.
