Cougars on prowl for GCTL glory

-

ALL-CONQUERING Carrara will tonight seek to rubberstamp their claims as the best tennis club on the Gold Coast.

The Gold Coast Tennis League finals start at KDV Sport, with the Cougars’ unbeaten junior squad strong favourites to retain their mantle.

The open division side also owns a perfect record, a mental stranglehold that could prove telling when $5000 and a ticket to State Finals – to be played during the Brisbane International – go up for grabs tonight.

“After last year’s success, we are really keen to back it up and stamp our authority as the best tennis team on the Gold Coast for the second year running”, Cougars manager Ryan Kebblewhite said.

“The opportunity to play during the Brisbane International was a fantastic experience and we now want to share this experience with our junior team.”

All finals matches start from 5pm at KDV Sport.

The Cougars face Beenleigh Blaze in the junior decider before meeting Gold Coast Giants in the open division.

There will also be playoff matches for 3rd/4th and 5th/6th, with the venue to put on food, drinks, a jumping castle and live music.
