Antarctic jobs on offer
AUSTRALIANS looking for a wintry change can now apply to work in Antarctica.
The Australian Antarctic Division is looking to recruit more than 150 people for a range of roles at its three Antarctic stations on sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island.
A wide range of positions have become available for chefs, station leaders, tradies, engineers, IT and communications operators.
Roles can be held for short summer stints of four months or up to 18 months.
The division’s human resources manager, Andrew Groom, said the move south was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The recruitment round for the 2018-19 season is open until 24 January 2018.
