AUSTRALIAN­S looking for a wintry change can now apply to work in Antarctica.

The Australian Antarctic Division is looking to recruit more than 150 people for a range of roles at its three Antarctic stations on sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island.

A wide range of positions have become available for chefs, station leaders, tradies, engineers, IT and communicat­ions operators.

Roles can be held for short summer stints of four months or up to 18 months.

The division’s human resources manager, Andrew Groom, said the move south was a once in a lifetime opportunit­y. The recruitmen­t round for the 2018-19 season is open until 24 January 2018.
