Top volunteers win week to put feet up
VARSITY Lakes-based Classic Holidays has lauded the efforts of top volunteers on the Gold Coast to mark International Volunteer Day celebrations.
Gold Coast Volunteer of the Year Robert Campbell from the Scouts Association, Gold Coast Youth Volunteer of the Year, Sera Jeong from the Multicultural Families Organisation, and Gold Coast Volunteer Co-ordinator of the Year, Belinda Welsh, from Ronald McDonald House, were all honoured as Classic Heroes at a gala ceremony last week.
The company awarded each winner a seven-night holiday, which can be used at any Classic resort in Australia or NZ.
Donations totalling more than $25,000 worth of holidays have been donated to volunteers through the Classic Heroes initiative this year.
Chief commercial officer Mark Stephenson lauded the partnership with Volunteering Services Australia.
“Many of our members and staff volunteer, which is why we are so passionate about making it such a big part of how we can give back,” he said.
