Maximum damage done

- – CONNOR O’BRIEN

MAX Bryant has done it again.

The Gold Coast Dolphins opener rescued Queensland from disaster to deliver a matchwinning – and somewhat measured, by his standards – knock of 78 off 82 balls against NSW Metro at the under-19 national championships in Tasmania last night.

After routing their rivals for 191, Queensland were quickly on the ropes at 4-36 in reply.

Bryant survived the carnage to combine with Ben Maynard for a crucial 116-run stand.

The Heat big hitter looked on track for consecutive hundreds – following his unbeaten 125 against South Australia – until he was stumped.

Fellow Gold Coaster Xavier Bartlett took 1-31 off eight overs as Queensland won by three wickets.
