A time for Suns to set

WELL done, Gold Coast Suns.

A decade after they were welcomed into the AFL fold, look at all that progress ... or not.

It’s grossly unfair to pin a lack of success on individuals yet what can’t be denied is the lack of growth in key areas.

The Suns are set to roll out one of their youngest squads in 2018, a rapid regeneration that you would hope an infant club would not need to be going through.

The proof is in the pudding, however.

Gone is some of that ‘oh well, they’re only new’ element, replaced by a malaise that fans hope can be disassembled by a string of good results.

Goodness knows supporters have waited long enough for it.
